Newby here, wish I still had the GTO's I used to own. Any way, I am looking at 67 Catalina convertable with a 3 speed on the column manual transmission one owner car, I have never seen one before and I was wondering how rare this car is and how many were made with the manual transmission. Thanks to all.

Welcome to PontiacRegistry.com!

The '67 Catalinas were pretty low production with only 10,033 built. For a now 52 year old car, there may be 10% (the old "10% Rule") left. We will never really know.

As far a having a 3-speed on the column, that is unusual but not rare (as in the super valuable area). By this time, the fear of automatic transmissins was pretty well gone. However, peformance buffs still wanted to stir the gear, but usually with a 4 on the floor; sometimes a 3-speed to cut costs.

The people back then, as I still remember, who bought a simple 3-speed on the column were usually people who just plain didn't like automatics, and weren't interested in performance or extra glitz. This makes the car unusual, mabbe even kind of rare, but not necesdsarily more valuable. It would be fun though!

I drove a '67 Catalina Ventura 2-door hardtop as my everyday driver in the '80s and '90s in Florida and thouroughly enjoyed it (it had A/C of course). I have always been facinated by the front end-- one headlight in the bumper and one in the fender... how cool is that?!?

Hope you buy this car and enjoy it!

That's funny that the car is so low of options. As a matter of fact, the '67 Ventura Catalina I mentioned must have been just to get the "Ventura" emblem because I never found anything that I would have thought was "Ventura" exclusive. Maybe the pleated vinyl seats, but beyond that, my original owner must have been a cheapskate too.
