Want to buy a Chieftain

Am looking at getting a Chieftain, 1949-1954 is the body style I really like.
I want one that is completely restored (or at least very close) and I would like
a sedan. I am new to these cars and need some info on what to look for, what to avoid, problems with certain years, what to pay etc. etc. Also where is a good place to buy one? Found a very nice one on EBay but it sold already.

The best thing you can do to learn about these old cars and which you might like the most is to go to our On-Line magazine and look for articles of the years you like. Also go to the Vintage Pontiac Ads and the Great Pontiac Photos Pin-Board and start looking around.

Put a "Car Wanted" a dit the classifieds and if you have any specific questions about a particular car, post it so we can help walk you through the process. Also check the Classifieds "Cars for Sale." Don't be afraid to call old ads too. Often times a car won't be sold even if after a long period.
