1954 Pontiac Star Chief Side Molding

I am looking for a rear quarter panel side molding for a 1954 Pontiac Star Chief Sedan. The molding starts at the taillight (11/16" wide) and tapers forward, length of 29-3/4". Molding number is 517839-40.

I appreciate any help in locating one as this body was only for 1954, 1955 received a new body style. Thanks.

That's gonna be a tough item to find. I had a number of '54 Star Chief 4-doors about 24 years ago and even then, those were scarce. Being pot metal, they really deteriorated badly.

I would suggest, if anyone had any, Kurt Kelsey is about the biggest suppler of NOS Pontiac stuff. See his contact into under "AFFILIATES" then "Member Discounts." He gives our members a 5% discount too.

Also check with California Pontiac Parts (see ad on right). They give a discount also.

As simple as that piece is, I'm surprised someone hasn't machined one out of solid stock yet.
