Hi my name is Tony, I just recently bought a 64 bonneville and the transmission shifts wierd. I have to get it up to around 3000 to 4000 rpm let off the gas and then get back on it to get into 2nd gear. Someone told me I had to adjust the trans. I was wondering if thats a true statement or is the trans. just giving out on me? If it is an adjustment issue How do I go about it? Thank you.

Check with our Automatic Transmission Tech Advisor, Steve Peluso. He is extremely familiar with these transmissions (owns an auto trans shop in MA).

Look under "Members" then "Technical Advisors." He prefers to take phone calls.
