There is a gentlemen in Illinois that has several items for full-size Pontiacs. He has many NOS parts.

I belive he has his contact info in Smoke Signals. I will see if I can locate.

1967-- probably my favorite late-model Pontiac ever! Had an everyday driver down here in Florida in the '90s- a Ventura 2-door hardtop, factory air... loved it! As with every other one "should never have gotten rid of it!".

While not a '67 2+2 article, it is nonetheless great reading about two brothers restoring two 2+2s, a '66 convertible and a '66 hardtop 2+2 in our On-Line Magazine at:

http://www.pontiacregistry.com/members/online_magazine.php?view=1&article=151
and be sure to continue the trip into Part II at: http://www.pontiacregistry.com/members/online_magazine.php?view=1&article=152

For parts, you're right in the vintage for Steve at Indiana Pontiac Parts. Check his ad in the lower left of our home page or in the Commercial Supplier listing under "Affiliates" then "Member Discounts". He may have what you need or know where to get it for you... plus you get a discount from him for being a PontiacRegistry.com member.

Convertible 1966 2 + 2

PostPosted: Sun Dec 14, 2008 10:39 am    Post subject: 2+2 interior quarter panels Reply with quote

My brother & I both got our '66 2+2 door & quarter panels from SMS and were very satisfied. I don't know if they stock the '67 2+2 conv. quarter panels, but I do know they have their own vinyl pattern making equipment, and can copy many of the old styles. A special order might take a while, but the quality of the panels Dean & I received was exceptional.
Hope this helps

Now I'm corn-fused.... what's new!?

I was thinking you were referring to sheet metal quarter panels, but now realize it could also be interior panels. As Duncan states SMS is the best source for those- AND Doug Pollack, the owner of SMS, is giving our members a 10% discount- super deal, huh?!

Also check SMS for convertible top and other materials too. Additionally one of our other commercial suppliers giving member discounts is ARO. They make convertible tops and are GM specialists.

You can contact SMS and ARO by looking under "Affiliates" then "Member Discounts".

Please keep us posted of your progress.

Convertible 1966 2 + 2

The pictures of your 2+2 lead me to think it was the interior panels...sorry.

In addition to the Indiana source, you might also try Wyoming Classic Cars, All American Classics in WA., and Ron Kiser near Murphysboro, IL for sheet metal. There is also a guy named Jon Fiedler from Pomona, CA who at one time had a bunch of CA full size dry Pontiacs. At one time, Desert Valley Auto Parts in AZ had quite a few Pontiacs as well as Pontiac Heaven (Steve Barcak) in AZ. Shipping can get expensive, but many of the western salvage yards offer dry sheet metal that can be much less costly in the long run. In general CA body men are scared to death of rust so they just resist using rusty parts unless nothing else is available.
Even though Ron is in IL, he often had cars with very little rust...just depended on what he had in inventory.

I tried to use some body panels made in Canada but my body man could not use them...just an FYI
Hope this helps

Ron Kiser in IL would be a good choice. He has tons of NOS parts and loves big Pontiacs. A few years back, my friend and his father went to visit him and he had a full-size 428 4-speed Poncho. Had a great story behing the car.

I also have a 67 2+2 convertible. They're fairly rare since the factory only built 231 of them. I think I have the only one registered west of the Mississippi river (in SoCal).

If you need some pics, please email me at firebird_jim@yahoo.com.

Thanks. . . . Jim
