It's time to show the world how strongly we feel about our Pontiacs!

With all that is going on in the auto indiustry today, it is looking like when things finally settle down, it ain't gonna look much like we were used to... and that isn't necessarily a bad thing either.

However, we have the task ahead to continue to support and promote one of the leading automobiles of all time-- Pontiac. Nothing will change the rich, successful history of this brand, regardless of what happens today.

Check out the new Computer Wallpapers now available proclaiming "Forever Pontiac!" Show everyone who peeks over your shoulder that you are pure Pontiac true-and-true. They are also available as full-color posters for your walls.

How about getting me a nice selection of good quality Canadian Pontiac photos and I'll make a poster celebrating the Pontiacs of Canada?

if you want, go to CanadianPoncho.com, I have no photos , excpt of my own cars and options. They are a rare car, even up here, and even back in the day'83. Thats why the lady sold the car, people kept following her home threating they would steal the car. She had to put up a steel park entrance gate, huge dog, then parked the car in an old shed/garage to keep it hidden, Dad and I bought the car for 2grands, 3 days after owning it I was offered 9grand for it, Dad, when he drove it to work to show the boys in '83 was offered bigger coin for it, on the sude of the road. I was pulled over twice in it, both times cop just wanted to look at the car. Even city archivale photos of city streets in Toronto, you see full size ponchos, the odd Acadian Invader, but not a Beaumont. weird. Reynolds Auto Museum wanted both cars for their collection, cant sell my babies now. Dont mean to sound off on my cars, just letting you know they are hard to find. Really hard to find, especialy without crager rims, B&M shifter and diamond tuft interior, and the 99dollar Macco special paint job, lol, just teasing

I have a 1968 Pontiac Stratochief, 2 door sedan with a 427 cu. in., 385 hrs. big block Chevrolet engine, 4 spd, documented by General Motors of Canada as one of five cars made. The equivalent American car would be a 1968 Catalina, 2 door sedan with a 428 cu. in., ? hrs. Did GM make this car and if so how many? I also have a 1968 Beaumont SD, 396 cu. in., 350 hrs. with 75,000 miles. Most of these Beaumonts when registered originally in Canada, were shown on our ownerships, your Title, as a Chevelle. There were 292 of these and almost the same number of 325 hrs. cars and about 60+ convertibles compared with about 77,000 SS Chevelles. These Beaumonts were marketed through the Pontiac dealerships in Canada due to the fact the GTOs were not available here at that time. The debate is ongoing even here as to whether they are Pontiacs or General Motors. Due to the rarity of these (Chevelle/Beaumonts) the surviving few appear to be in great demand here as well as south of our border and Americans, appearing to have the upper hand in purchasing power, are diminishing the numbers left in Canada. I hope this of some interest to this forum. Thanks a lot, Doug.

Sorry, sorry, sorry! I kept getting a message that my post did not work however obviously this was greatly exaggerated as it would appear it worked three times in a row. Maybe this was to make me look bad because I'm a Canadian. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks, Doug.

Hi Doug,

I removed the duplicate posts, but wanted to respond to the concern of the error message. Although you are signed up for the Free Trial Membership, I am guessing that you did not log in before posting.

Because we opened the forums (most of them) to visitors, people can post without logging in first. However, when a visitor posts to a member's post, an error is "thrown". This is because the member has his or her e-mail address registered and also has requested a notification of an answer to one of their posts.

Because a visitor, or non-logged in member, does not have their e-mail address accessible, the error message goes out-- but as you saw, the post still goes through successfully. This is something we are trying to find a way around. Now back to cars...

Is your question how many '68 Catalina 2-door sedans were made with the 428? If so, all we know for sure is that 5,247 were made. The standard engines for the Catalina series were 400s. The 428 only shows as optional in the Bonneville and Grand Prix. It is possible that some special order Catalinas might have snuck through with a 428, but that would be iffy. Sure would be rare if so.

I did not know that the Beaumonts were titled as Chevelles. They sure are shown as part of the Pontiac of Canada stable.

Keep sharing that unique Canadian Pontiac information with all of us.
