Hi all.
I require an exhaust manifold hot box flange assembly to suit a straight 8 engine. Can anyone help?
Regards,
Alex

Not quite sure what you mean by "hot box flange assembly." Is that a "down under" term?

If it's the actual exhaust manifold, a parts search shows the 1935 and '36 the same. If it's the heat riser and flange that goes below the exhaust manifold (to the pipe), then 1935-'36, 1937-'38 left hand drive, and 1939 are the same. This may help in parts hunting.

The only places I can think of anymore with the possibility of older cars are: Windy Hill Salvage, French Lake Salvage, and RPM Motorsports all in Minnesota. A search will get their contact info.

Other than locating a used one, I guess you'll just have to comb parts dealers like Kurt Kelsey, California Pontiac Restoration, Kanter, etc.

Thanks Larry,
Yes it is an Aussie term. The part I'm after is the heat riser flange assembly.
The vehicle is a Holden bodied rh drive sedan.

That's gonna be tough. Not only rare, but usually quite "welded" to the rest of the manifold. My only suggestion is checking the places I listed as they are about the only ones with any old cars left. Looks like the RHD is going to limit you to the '35 and '36 years. Though I don't know why the '39 is standing out alone.

We've had a couple of others looking for manifold pieces lately too.

If you have something to start with, perhaps it can be repaired. Here is a place that advertises manifold repairing in Old Cars Weekly who perhaps can do a rebuild for you: Prairie Auto Porcelean (in Minnesota) e-mail: tandmsparrow@earthlink.net
