Does anyone know if there was any parts used from chevy to build the 1962 Catalina? like axle bearings, rear end differential parts, suspension and steering, trailing arm bushings? any info would be appreciated, I have the vehicle totally apart and looking at replacing all wearable parts.

If any of the items you list were the same for Chevy, it would only be by coincidence. Pontiac was quite different than a Chevy in most every regard.
Now, there should be no problem finding the Pontiac parts you need without trying to source Chevy parts. Mechanical parts were built in such large numbers, they are still available today (and some may even interchange). But just shop for the Pontiac parts, it will be much easier.
Try California Pontiac Parts, Ames has lots of big car parts, Northwestern Auto Parts in Grand Rapids, MI for NOS stuff, even the speed equipment shops for suspension parts. And... don't forge to try NAPA too.
Though the Pontiac parts are not reproduced like Chevy parts, the '62 items shouldn't be too hard to find. _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |

You'll note in the write-up about our Reference Library that we had to take it off line because GM (the creeps!) wanted more and more money for us to do so... did I mention creeps?!?
I would be happy to check into anything you need, or for the small cost to cover my expenses, I'll send you the entire manual on CD or flash drive. $20.00 would cover it... such a deal, huh? _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |
