Hi. I recently imported a '63 Pontiac Grand Prix to Western Australia from San Francisco. This is just the most amazingly well made car. I'm getting some of the electrical niggles out. My heater resistor block that screws in to the top of the heater unit under the hood has three resistors. The lowest resistance (thicker coil) has blown. It looks like it got really hot. Not sure why. Can anyone tell me what the resistance of this and/or all three resistors should be? I could find a suitable resistance wire to replace it rather than paying big money to find a replacement unit. I'd hate to fit a NOS one and find it blows again! Cheers, Lloyd _________________ |

I have never seen that question before, and quite actually would wonder if that number info even exists.
Since it is for the lowest motor speed setting it must have had high resistance. Just a thought... check the resistance of the high speed (thinnest) coil, then the mid-speed coil, and whatever the difference is, drop down that far again for the burned out one.
Also, if you have any access to any similar car, I bet it would be the same as what you need resistance-wise.
