A short while ago I heard from a member in Rhode Island who was concerned that there wasn't much action concerning the '61-'63 Tempests/Lemans. He assumed that people just weren't interested in them.
I assured him that these are, in many Pontiac hobbyists' opinions, some very significant, interesting Pontiacs, and invited him to "start the ball rolling" by perhaps submitting a story and some information he could share about these cars. Well, to say he took the challenge is an understatement!
Check the very interesting, thorough article about his 1962 Lemans coupe in our On-Line Magazine. It is titled "Unlikely Lemans- 1962" and runs in two parts. Let him know how much you appreciate all his work preparing this great story.

I will let the gentlemen know that these cars are strongly supported. I am going to check out the online article this evening. The '61 to '63 Tempest/Lemans opened up a very interesting chapter in Pontiac History. It is great to see people taking them to heart and preserving them.

I spotted a 1962 Lemans in Huxel's Salvage Yard Wednesday. It was a great find. Mr. Huxel had a 1963 Tempest too! Great cars!!

As you know Larry, I own a '63 Tempest that came from Randy Williams in Indiana. Big plans for this car in the future. I think owners of these cars would be amazed at the following they have. The biggest problem is they are rare finds today.

Lets see more articles on these rope driveshaft machines!!

Thanks,
Jeff

My Great Uncle drove one of these. I never realized how unique it was until I got into Pontiacs eons later. Even then this article provided a lot more info about the ropeshaft and rear tranny that I found especially interesting.
This car is very nicely done, and an interesting story about it as well.
