How many members plan on attending the 2008 Ames Performance Tri-Power Nationals this year in Norwalk, Ohio? It truly is the premier Pontiac event in the country.

It is enjoyable from both a spectator point of view and participant. I have raced their two years and attended as a spectator for three years. The event was big a few years ago, but it has grown even more. I will try to get some photos to Larry along with event coverage if time permits.

I had beginner's luck my first year racing taking my '74 SD455 T/A to the runner-up position in the stock ranks. There were over 200+ cars in my field alone.

I would be very interested in meeting some fellow members of Pontiac registry. It is a great organization with a lot of great people. It is worth taking the vacation time and planning to attend. I never have time to look over all the great swap meet area. I have picked up some great deals though. The caliber of cars is unreal!!

Hope to see some of you there this year. Let me know if any of you are attending.

Thanks,
Jeff

Norwalk, Ohio

They were going to change the date this year. It has been the first week of August ever since I can remember. It is changing to the second week now. August 10,11,12. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Look forward to meeting some of you guys.

If all goes well, I'll probably try to cover some of the event for Larry. It will be a full plate racing and all, but it is always a fun event.

What the he??. We can check with Mr. Ames. HA!!

2007 Ames Performance Tri-Power Nationals Rental Car Shootout!

Maybe it can headline the Pontiac magazines. Are you going to rent a GTO? Whatever you rent, make sure it can take the 1/4 mile in 20 seconds or less.

What kind of Ponchos are you fellas bringing? We will be bringing a couple. Like most of you, I identify quickly with cars. Let me know what you are taking to Norwalk.

My buddies and I are bringing:

1974 Super Duty 455 Trans-Am - Candy Apple Red - American Racing Wheels.

1965 Tempest drag car - Silver - Pro Stock Scoop - Weld Wheels (runs 5.90's 1/8-mile and 9.50's 1/4-mile).

1963 A/FX Tempest - Aluminum frontend - Candy Apple Red - Cragar S/T Wheels - Front fenders logo "F.B.I." (stands for f@$&*! Bad Indian) Sponsored by Hard Times Garage.

See ya there!!

Thanks,
Jeff

We are planning on coming along with Larry Cooper and Jim Davis. As long as everything goes well leading up to the event and we are all still together we shall be there.

As of right now, I'll probably have my dragster there, along with my brother having his dragster.

Been trying for the last couple years to get my Formula back out, but the money gun usually runs out of bullets. Very Happy

Jeff, did you have the SD there this past year?

I had the SD there last year. Went four rounds on both days. I had transmission failure problems.

Look forward to seeing all of you guys there. Have to post some photos of the Pontiac registry guys that attend the race.

Jeff
