Everyone needs to mark on their calendars labor day weekend. Larry Cooper has organized a great Pontiac event for all of us to attend. It is located in Sikeston, Missouri. The track and facility are very easy to access. The track is located right off interstate I-55 in southeast Missouri.

There are three days of racing action and a Sunday car show. Friday night is a test and tune session. Saturday night is the local bracket program. Bring your Pontiacs out to beat up on Fords, Mopars, Chevrolets, you name it. Sunday is strictly all Pontiacs.

We need to support these guys efforts. They help bring together the Pontiac hobby.

Get ready for the "Pontiac Uprising" event held in Kansas too. The Wilhites put on a spectacular show!

I'll hope for the best for these guys, unfortunately I live too far away to participate in either of these Pontiac events. Then again, at $45.00 to get in, I can't even attend the Pontiac Day at the Englishtown NJ Race Track, and I only live 20 minutes away from that place.

I wanted to verify the event dates with Larry before I posted anything. Larry made it sound very clear he was going to host the event again next year.

It was really a great time. The prices for racing at Sikeston have always been extremely reasonable. I believe it is only $10.00 to run test and tune on Friday. You can make tons of passes. This works out great for people traveling a far distance. There are three days of racing. A guy can have a lot of fun in this time span.

I hope the best for Larry. I would appreciate it if any of you guys could help support it. Wether it be racing a car as a participant, attending the car show, showing up as a spectator or helping him get sponsorship. I am sure any suport will make it an even better annual Pontiac outing.

There are several fast cars that put on a tremedous show too. Several Pontiacs close to or in to the 5 second 1/8-mile range. 4's too!

The show car field was small, but maybe with a little help, it can be made in to the largest Pontiac car show in Missouri! That would be neat!

This is a great event and it is centrally located. Get the word out. Word by mouth is the best advertising and communication.

Thank you for your guys help. Maybe Larry can post something for these guys as well on the site. I know it is extremely early, but this will give people plenty of time to plan things. Lets help Larry Cooper make this event a huge success!!

Thanks,
Jeff
