1954 chieftan heater

I have an under seat heater in my 54 wagon as well as the defrost unit on the firewall. Can I bypass the under seat heater and run a heater hose from the defroster core to the bottom of the radiator?

Any heater hoses/tubes can be disconnected and simply "looped" together to bypass a core. What you should do is simply disconnect the two lines going to the underseat heater core and just connect them together. That way the water will just flow through as if going through the core.
