Wanted: Fuel sending unit for a 55 chieftain station wagon

This is one of the most difficult items to find today for our older cars.

The first question often asked is if Chevy parts will work. A look at the Hollander Interchange books shows the 1955 fuel tank to only be interchangable with Pontiacs of of 1956-'57 wagons, so at least that would open your window a bit... making the assumption that the sending units are also the same. Unfortunately the books do not break down to the sending units. If you could visually compare to other cars (Chevy, Olds, Buick), that would sure help.

Before replacing, have you thoroughly checked yours out? Especially the ground that must be very clean.
