The Solstice seems to be as close as they can manage for now when it comes to cool.

Will Pontiac ever come out with a real cool car?

True, but if I could actually afford ANY car, let alone a new one, I'd consider the Solstice, even though I've never really owned anything in its size class.

I agree. I really like the design of the Soltice. I've just learned that for me little cars are not the ticket. I don't like looking over into the other lane and seeing my reflection is an 18 wheelers hubcap. Cool

And while I'm dreaming, sell it for less than $10,000.00. Okay, would you believe less than $20,000.00? Less than $21,000.00, and a pack of pigmies to clean it? (in Memory of the late Don Adams, and anything I can afford these days in the way of an automobile).

Can't help you with the spelling (I am "spelling challenged" also), other that the Google tool mentioned (never tried that). But, you do know that everyone can edit their own posts, right? Just click on the "edit" with the scissors icon and edit away. You can also preview before submitting also.

Please forgive my ignorance Larry. Perhaps I'm just blind, but I've never seen a scissors icon on any of my posts. I've never observed any way of editing my posts. Where is this icon on the screen?

Thanks.

Hi Stu,
Mystery solved.
I did some checking and found that the editing and deleting features are turned on in the Technical Q&A, but not in this "General" forum. I have asked the web techs to climb up to the top of the pole and turn on those switches (I'm sure that's how it works!?).
This is just one of those "missed something out of eleventy-million things". I thought life was supposed to get less complicated as you got older!
Thanks for bringing that to our attention. That's how we find these things sometimes.

Hello! This is my first post here in the Pontiac Registry Forum - looks like an interesting place! Super, a number of Solstice owners have dropped V-8s into their cars ... not sure about the 6 speeds, though. Bob Lutz has pretty much mandated that the plant will never produce a V-8 Solstice on the assembly line. Nonetheless, it's an AMAZING car! Very Happy

All of the conversions I have seen contain the manual transmission.

Hot Rod or Car craft tested one of these rockets. It outran and outperformed everything imaginable. It was tremendously cheaper than the other cars. I have the article around somewhere.

It ran 10.90's in the 1/4 mile and was having severe traction problems. Talk about a bad?@! car.

Too bad it could not be a production car. At least the conversions are available though.

Neat, way beyond my means, but neat.

No one can accuse GM of brilliant marketing strategies at least.

Very Happy Lutz's new vision for Pontiac is to perhaps change Pontiac's former winning marketing phrase from "Wide Track" to the G series "Long - but Narrow - but just buy it...PLEASE!!!!" And why has no one else here pointed out the obvious slap to all of us loyal Pontiac owners? The Solstice was overpowered and out-performance marketed by a SATURN!!!????? What the $%&@!!!??? Any LS(whatever series) is Kwel...but what can you and I buy at the local Poncho dealer? For now it's NADDA! Rolling Eyes

I look forward to the reply's. Cio! Wink
