Is it necessary to remove the right fender when replacing the blower motor for the heater/defroster?

Well, as they say "We have good news, and bad news"... now for the good news.

We have an answer to your question.... now for the bad news...

I doubt it is what you want to hear.

I checked with a '64 GTO friend and he consulted his chassis manual-- you have have to remove the right front fender to R&R the heater blower motor- DRAT!!

He checked his '64 GTO and confirmed this is the situation. He suggested that it is easier (?!?) to remove the inner and outer fender as one unit.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the input (I think). I assumed it was necessary to remove the fender but I thought someone may have a trick up their sleeve. I'll try your suggestion and remove both the inner/outer fender as a unit.

The only "trick" I have ever heard of was on Firebirds..... but that involved a hammer and chisel!

Good luck.

I have heard of a similar "trick". Obviously I prefer not to use a chisel on a collector car. Sometimes a hammer though! Thanks.
