1981 Turbo Trans Am

PostPosted: Thu May 29, 2008 5:27 pm    Post subject: 1981 TT/A SE Decal location diagram Reply with quote

I just bought a decal set for my 1981 Turbo T/A. The gentleman putting the stickers on wants a detailed diagram on where the stickers should go. My factory service manual doesn't have anything on stickers and no detail instructions came with the kit. I've owned the car since 1985 and I know where they go. But the company charges extra if the customer helps. Does anyone know where I can get this info? Thank you Rolling Eyes

Did you buy the decals from Phoenix Graphix or Stensils and Stripes (both give our members a discount)? If so, don't they offer assistance in the application?

I'm sure the T/A hobbyists know of a source for this information. I hope one is listening now.

A quick Google search produced a boatload of decals for sale but no reference to location information.

If you discover a source for this info, please share it with us so we can squirrel it away for when the question comes back up.

Hi Larry,
Registry members are very helpful and I appreciate that. Thank you!
No, I bought the decals from Classic Industries. They recommended I consult the factory assembly manual or check with 78TA.com. For 78TA.com you require a code to view the detail for graphics placement. This code is provided with the kit when you buy it. Had I known about the extra service from 78TA, I would have bought the kit from them (no offense to Classic Industries or Phoenix Graphics). I'm affraid I'm going to end up putting the stickers on myself. I don't doubt my capacity to do a good job, just the thought of how many birds I'll go through to do it. Laughing Anyways, I'll keep checking back. The T/A is my main transportation and has been since 1985 so I'm not in a big hurry. By the way, I need, among other things, an air pump pipe. Because I'm knew, where is the best place to post parts needed?

To post a Parts Wanted, just go to the Clasifieds Forum.

You might want to check with one of our Affiliate Suppliers, Factory Auto Manuals. Perhaps they have the manual you need; they will give you a discount too. Look under "Other" in the Affiliates listing (under member Discounts). It might be cheaper in the long run than a ruined decal. You might also ask advice from our Paint and Body Technical Advisor, Ron Hoffman. Look under the Members listing for Technical Advisors.

Keep us posted.
