I am sure this will attract alot of pontiac people who are hungry to share and gain knowlege, thru other people.
For as we know, the only dumb question is the one that isn't asked.
We have nothing to lose and everything to gain, at least at this point.

POCI did prove that pay sites don't make it. That "just us" stuff dosen't work on this internet.
Why pay, when Performance Years and Classic are free.
Just my opinion,
Good luck!

Thank you for asking a very important question (re: paying for an on-line Pontiac Club).

We have given very serious consideration to this matter, and there are many reasons why we must charge what is a very small fee for this site. Eventually, no more than just over a dollar per month.

First of all, this is a Club and not just a meeting place for discussions. According to Webster a Club is " a group of persons organized together for a common purpose." Our "purpose" is not just to talk about Pontiacs, but to provide for all Pontiac hobbyists the single largest source of Pontiac services, information, and entertainment in the world. We wish to form a group (Club) of people who will work together by sharing their knowledge, information, and resources with all others towards that goal.

Second, PontiacRegistry.com is not a web site owned or sponsored by a commercial supplier. We applaud any commercial organization who offers a place for their customers and guests to gather, but PontiacRegistry.com must pay its own way.

Third, we have far more to offer as we approach 100% operation than any other similar site. I (some of you know me already, Larry Kummer), will bring my 25+ years of hobby knowledge to PontiacRegistry.com to make it that single best source of information, service, and entertainment that we plan it to be. I am actively working on collecting together many interesting Pontiac resources and information pieces towards that goal. We also have many very fine Pontiac people from around the world who are already helping us. Additionally, we inviting EVERYONE to send us feature stories and photos of their Pontiacs so we can feature their Pontiac love for all the others just like them to enjoy. We are also asking everyone to share technical articles, or even just short pieces of advice, so we can put them into an ever growing archive to be availabe forever. Even our Technical Forum will be archived so none of this valuable information is ever lost (purged). If you remember seeing some information about a particular topic six months ago? It will be archived so you can always find it again. Same with the entire on-line magazine, and all technical articles.

I am positive that all members of PontiacRegistry.com will find more than they ever dreamed possible in one single place about their favorite automobile, Pontiac. But, there is still more.....

We are initiating a "Club Affiliate Program" to gather together all the many local and regional Pontiac clubs around the world. This will not be like other national clubs where you must join them first. PontiacRegistry.com will offer these clubs space to display and advertise their club and events on our site, and it will not cost them anything. Their members do not need to join PontiacRegistry.com (although we hope that they will), they just need to agree to help promote the Pontiac hobbyplace. Together we will grow the Pontiac hobby, and there will be no politics or BS. Just working together for the common goal, ultimately leading to helping each other and growing friendships.

But, back to questions of cost. If anyone sends in a feature story about them and their Pontiac, or Pontiacs, or if anyone sends in a technical article that we use in our on-line magazine, we will give them a free year's membership in PontiacRegistry.com. Want to save even more?

We are setting up a Commercial Supplier Program in which suppliers of parts and services are offering discounts to our members. We have had very good results with a number of suppliers already joining up to give our members discounts..... one we are especially happy to announce is Year One. As with Year One, if you purchase parts form them, you can potentially save your PontiacRegistry.com membership fees many times over. This is just one of the many "value added" benefits that PontiacRegistry.com can bring its members.

There are absolutely NO LIMITATIONS to what we can do with everyone working together. You tell us what you want, and we will try to bring it to you. This is a Club, "a group of persons organized together for a common purpose". Help us to help you, and the Pontiac hobbyplace.

If anyone has any suggestions or comments that they might wish to discuss, I can be reached at: 941-792-7809 or e-mail: tac@gte.net.
Thank you for your help and support!
Lary Kummer

This WILL come alive if you keep spreading the word. It does take time for a new site to come up to speed.

Great site look forward to being here daily, But I think you are missing at least one section and that would be for Pontiac Street rods and Customs.
Any thoughts on that? Cool

So glad that the Street Rod and Custom question was asked. I apologize for delaying with a response. The Pontiac hobbyplace is rich with modification history-- from mild to wild. And, today it is even more common to find Pontiac lovers personalizing their rides. It is going to be very interesting to see how Pontiacs from the '70s and '80s will evolve as these bigger cars are becoming more and more popular with the younger hobbyists.
We will be happy to feature all tastes in Pontiacs in the on-line magazine (which is very close to going "live").
We would like to invite the Pontiac Street Rod and Custom lovers to send us all the material they possbly can so we can share it with everyone else. Also, please use the technical Q&A section to post any topics of advice you wish. This is very valuabe information, that everyone can gain from (even those with stock Pontiacs). Any technical info will be published in the on-line magazine and then archived in our Technical Article Archive so it will be available forever to reference.
If there would develope enough interest and information sharing, we would be happy to break out a special section for the Pontiac Street Rods and Customs. Thanks for your interest, participation, and suggestion.
Larry

Its been a year now and I think this site has done a great job. I have enjoyed meeting many new people and being able to network so easily.

Talk about tons of experience and knowledge here. Should always be easy getting questions answered.

I think it would be a nice added touch to have a forum dedicated to this. The traditional Pontiac V-8 is a work of art. Tons of potential. I have a genuine interest in drag racing and would like a forum to help us average Joes get more out of our Ponchos.

Just like anything in life, there is good info and bad info. I'd like to hear from the pros.
