I am in need of a Throwout Bearing for my 1950 Chieftain. Does anyone know of a supplier that might have these parts? Also has anyone ever installed a Floor shift conversion ? If so how did it work out ?
What happened to the POCI website? Im trying to find out when the Flathead fest is and where it is being held?
Thanks for your help,
Phil "RED"

Surprisingly enough, you might just try taking your part down to the local NAPA store or Carquest store, and see what they can do for you. If you don't have one in your area, I have a couple in my area that do that kind of stuff all the time. Or you can just call 217-428-7414, ask for Bob, and tell him "Mr. Harvey" sent you. |

When I bought my '40 Pontiac in 1979 it had a floor shift in it. I was able to drive it with that for a while, but besides not being correct, it was really flimsey. I probably have it in a box somewhere, but it was nothing to write home about. While I don't know the manufacturer, I have always suspected it might have been an old Foxcraft unit. There is a lot of old speed-type stuff being made available today, but I seriously wonder if there were any real quality items being made for the early Pontiacs. Let us know if you find something. |
