I've been doing some searching and not finding anything, so I apologize if I am asking something covered lots of times already.

Has anyone added shoulder harnesses to a 63? I imagine that it would be the same for most of the years around there as well. I know how to do it with a 65ish Mustang, just not sure if it would be a similar process. Would be adding a full 3 point modern harness.

Speaking of modern, has anyone any ideas of newer seats that would look ok in one of these cars? I need head rests at least, if not a full upper back like Pinto's had. I know people are using new GTO seats for the older GTO's and Lemans, but not sure what will fit and look right here. Aftermarket seats are an option as well. I just want more support and safety.

I don't want to change the looks too much (assuming I can buy this car) but I do need to bring as much of it as reasonably possible up to more modern safety and comfort levels. I have already decided to go with the Scarebird front disk brake conversion that uses GTO components. I found out this car does have the 5lug wheels, so that won't be an issue.

Speaking about brakes, has anyone swapped the single master cylinder for the safer dual one? Again, this is a common thing in the Mustang world, just not sure about Pontiacs, yet. But that is why I am here. Twisted Evil

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome. This seems to be about the only decent Pontiac site around, but I am open to books, magazines, etc as well.

Thanks,
Russ

Lots to ponder....

As for the brakes, the Scarebird people are very good, and have some great money-saving ideas/offers.

Many people have upgraded to the dual master cylinders too. From a plumbing standpoint, it may involve a proportioning valve addition with the dics on the front. I'm sure someone out there has actually done this on the same (or very similar) car and can suggest actual doner items.

With that thought, why not ask the Scarcebird people their thoughts/suggestions? I bet it is right up their alley.

Keep us posted.

Thanks, Larry.
I will ask them, but in my experience with this stuff I have found that usually the people doing the stuff like us tend to know more than the manufacturers. Laughing
I know that coming from the Mustang world things will be different, but I would imagine that there are more similarities as far as wanting to upgrade stuff than not. The single to dual brake master cylinder change being one. That is a given on a driven Mustang. Course, I could be wrong. Embarassed
Yes, I have spent a lot of years in that other world. Crying or Very sad
My first car was a 65 Olds Dynamic 88. My first car that ran was a 69 Mustang.
