Don't know, but more grand prixs than you think have them, highway geared of course which is what i'll be looking for, i've only heard of one 2+2 parts car (long time ago and stripped clean) but the posi rears seem to surface on ebay every now and then. My theme, if you will, for the car is to have something more along the lines of a factory concept much like the X-400's, which were allways cat converts with gp trim or gp's with convert. stuff added. A car pontiac should have built but once again, concept style instead of restoration. I would kill for a restored 2+2 convert. but every one looks the same as another restored example just with different color combos. There has to be over 100 65 cats with gp trim around the globe, it's easy, anyone could do it, and they probably have but i haven't seen any. By the way what's the big diff. btwn 1.5 and 1.65 rocker ratios?? What's behind the choice of one over the other? AND did pontiac make an X-400 for 65? |

Contact www.indianapontiacs.com Steve usally has a couple posi units. Most of them are 2:56 to 2:93. I have not seen any 3:23 or 3:42. His inventory changes monthly in the summertime. 1965-1966 are the same. 67 have a different porch mount for the springs.

Frank's Pontiac Parts in So CA has a posi rear end with 2:73 gears which might be just what you are looking for. My 2+2 has 3:42 gears behind an M20 Muncie 4 speed and it runs fairly high rpms at highway speed.
My brother ran a 3:08 gear in his 2+2 with a 421 tripower in front of a T 400, and it worked very nicely both on the strip and on the highway. |
