I have a 2000 Grand Prix GTP coupe. It is fully loaded including the optional Gold package.I just received paperwork from GM Canada showing that only 25 GTP coupes were built for Canada with this option. Can anyone tell me if this option was available in the U.S?It is listed in the Canadian brochure but not the American brochure. |

I had a 1998 GP GT that was a super looking metalllic dark green and had gold pinstripping and gold honeycombs. Was this the gold option also? What did that option entail?
Loved that GP. Bought with only 20,000 miles in 2000. But EVERYTHING electrical was burning out, one right after the other. Couldn't keep up with it. Had extended warrenty (thankfully), but things like the CD weren't covered ($$!!). All window motors burned out (some twice!). Finally figured out why they had put all new carpeting it it (they had forgoten to remove the plastic covering and just layed the mats over it).... it HAD to have been a Florida flood car! They were al over down here at that time. Dumped that sucker after only 8 months! Lost $8,000! Didn't feel good! |

Do you have pictures of your '98 that you could scan and email?I'd love to see them. |

You know, I really thought I had some photos, but I guess I dumped them when I dumped the car.
It is unfortunate that the car was such a problem (no fault of it's own, it didn't ask to be in a flood), because it was a fantastic car. Took it on two long trips (both over 1000 miles) and loved it on the road. It was comfortable, got great mileage, and went like a scared rabbit. I've never seen another one like it with the gold pin striping and gold honeycombs. Might have to think about one of those again down the road... a really dry one though! |
