Anyone know production figures on such a car?

According to John Gunnell's book "Standard Catalog of Pontiac" there were 20,826 Firebird Esprits produced for 1975.

In his other book "Standard Catalog of Firebird" he stated that the combined total of all Firebirds, including the Esprit, with the six cylinder was only 8,314. So, the majority of all were NOT sixes. There are no other breakdowns shown, so one must assume not available (at least through the "normal" channels).

The only engine that was available other than the six was the 350 as you mention. The "base" 350 was a 2-bbl. and it doe not say if a 4-bbl. was available as an option. The strange thing is that they state "...the Turbo-Hydramatic 350 was the only transmission available." for the Esprit.

The one you mention either has a trans transplant to a 4-speed or is perhaps a very rare special order car.
