I got a call yesterday from a member who was looking for the horn contact assembly for his 1940 26 model. I suggested he contact some of our Affiliate Commercial Suppliers who, if they had it, would pass on a nice discount.
In the meantime, as we talked, I got one of those images beginning to form in the back of my head of just such a piece somewhere in my stach. So, after we visited, I began hunting, and low and behold, I found what he nedeed. It is missing the top contact button, but he might be able to retrofit something to work. It is off in today's mail to him... free. I was just happy to help.
While investigating the horn contact, I scanned and e-mailed him some parts drawings from my 1940 parts manual. It seemed a shame to toss them, as they may help someone else too. They are shown below. The part he needed is Group # 2.819. You can see that the 29 model (Torpedo) is different. It also appears to be the same part for the models without the flexible horn ring. |
