1962 Grand Prix

First, let me tell you my dilemma. I am trying to put a dual master cylinder in my "62 GP. I read somewhere that a 1968 Bonnie power booster and master cylinder will fit, so I bought the set. Well, guess what?, it fit in the firewall OK, but I can't put the valve covers on. The power booster is about 11" - 12" in diameter. I know someone out there has done this conversion before, so PLEASE help me out. I was all over the web looking for additional info about this and I came across a guy out of NY, named Frank Botte. He sells custom boosters. I gave him a call ( sounds like the mafia, you know, heavy NY accent), and he says he can sell me an 8" booster that will beat anything out there. Not too pricy either. Anybody here of him? Also, if you run a dual master cylinder, do you need a proportioning valve/distribution block with four wheel drums? Thanks for all your help.

Regarging your m/cyl., if the 68 Bonni had drum brakes you likely won't need to have proportional valve. If it had disc. brakes I don't think that Master cyl. will work right??? Pete

The master cyl should bolt to your old powe booster, but you'll need to check and make sure that you have the right length rod from you m/c (probably the one from you single m/c should work.)

Pete,
Did you get your brake conversion done? How's my favorite dual quad Catalina doing?
