Does anyone have a guesstimate on the number of tilt columns installed on 63-64 "B" Body Pontiacs ie. Catalinas, Bonnevilles, Grand Prixs, etc.? I have found that parts for these columns is very difficult to find especially the nylon turn signal actuator lever for the turn signal cable that frequently breaks. I would also be interested if anyone knows if this same lever fits Oldsmobiles and Buicks "B" Cars? I know the Chevy Tilt is different. If you have any information email me at marniegp@att.net

A quick look at the Hollander Manuals shows that 1963 Pontiac full-size is pretty much by itself. However, when you look at 1964 you see a number of interchange listings crossing into Buick and Oldsmobile going clear up into 1966.

Because these listings consider the entire steering column, it is hard to determine if the actual components inside are interchangeable. This is where junkyarding and comparing pieces is critical. It also isn't clear if the power steering units and manual are the same in the area you are interested in.

If anyone has a parts manual, this would be the place to start, with actual part numbers. Please let us know what you discover so we can share it with others.

Good luck.

I don't have their catalog in front of me, but for some reason I thought that Ames has the turn signal actuator for the tilts for '64. Have you check with Ames? http://www.amesperf.com/

FYI Ames does not sell any internal parts for Tilt Colums, ie. actuator levers, relating to the turn signals, etc. I even called the supplier that rebuilds their columns and they do not stock or have replacement parts for the 63-63 columns.
