I am about to purchase a 1950 Chieftain 4 dr DLX that is in great condition, the only think that i want to do to it immediately is replace the radio. The previous owner had installed a new stero in the dash where the original was, however had NOT cut out the dash to make the extra space. He had bought a small one that would fit. I would LOVE to find an original radio that I could put back in there, or find a new reproduction. Also, is there a way of wiring the old radios up so I can add a hidden CD player in the glove box?
Many thanks for the help

Sorry to take so long getting something on this question, but I couldn't find the info I thought I had "filed" away.
Check out a company called Electro-Tech, Inc. in Blaine, MN. Go to their radio page at: http://www.turnswitch.com/radio1.htm
They advertise the classic look with modern performance. Please let us know if you have a good experience with them.
Did you purchase the car? If so, how about some info and photos? We would love to do a feature story on such a neat old Pontiac. Pleae contact me at: larry.kummer@pontiacregistry.com
Good luck,
