|
|
My good friend, Scott, recently purchased a '71 GT-37. I wanted to find out some production figures on the car for him.
It was ordered with the 300h.p. 400 with #96 heads and a 3-speed transmission and 3:55 gear. I would think the car is fairly rare.
The exterior was gold, with off all things, blue eyebrow stripes above the fender and quarters. It had a white interior.
Scott wanted to find out what the best company would be to purchase interior parts for the car. (door panels, carpet, headliner, seat covers, package trays, etc.) He is looking for good quality items and the best prices on the market. He is also needing a windshield and rust repair panels. The areas to repair rust on are the lower fenders.
What would be the correct code for the rally II wheels. Scott wanted to verify the were the original wheels.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jeff,
The May '06 Smoke Signals has a GT-37 in it. The article states in 1970, 1419 were built. In 1971, 5802 were built.
Sounds like a nice find. |

Thank you for the info David.
Is 5802 the number of GT-37's produced or did it include T-37's too?
Scott is very excited about the car. He has been wanting a cool street car for years. He has a full-out racecar, but wanted something a little extra. His racecar runs 5.90's at 115mph in the 1/8-mile.
The GT-37 is a very cool car. I am sure we will have a lot of fun with it. Nothing like a 400 Pontiac backed by a stick shift! Fun, fun, fun!!!!!
Thank you again David.

The article states the base model LeMans was the T-37, adding the GT package (WU2) made it a GT-37, so I guess by default, they're all T-37s, they're just GT T-37s.
The one in the article is a beauty. |
