Hi, can anyone advise where to get front brake shoes for a 1952 chieftain without getting ripped off?

First, have you checked with NAPA? Sometimes they will really surprise you with how far back they can go.

If not NAPA, be sure to check with one of our "Affiliate Commercial Suppliers" Brake and Equipment Warehouse in MN. Call them and be sure to tell them that you are a member of PontiacRegistry.com who they are giving a club discount to.

Go to our page: http://www.pontiacregistry.com/index.php?content=affiliates_details&supplier_id=169
and see all the information to contact them.

If you (or anyone) ever have a problem with the discounts, give me a call and I'll take care of it. Sometimes you might not reach the person who is aware of the discount arrangement.

Try Kurt Kelsey and California Pontiac restoeration (CPR) also. Both are Affiliate Commercial Suppliers giving our members discounts too.
I fear however that the prices might be the same. I have not bought old shoes for a long time and guess they have gotten pretty expensive from what you report.

I got mine for my 1950 at Car Quest . They had to order them but it took 1 day and they were there.

Just an Idea !!

Good Luck.
