Classic Car Insurance Recommendations

I recently had my 73 Firebird appraised and the value has increased to the point where I need to shop for the best value in classic car insurance. Does anyone have any recommendations (or warnings) for specific insurers ? I currently am insured with American Collectors.

I feel that one of the most dedicated to the hobbyist is J.C. Taylor in PA (1-800-345-8290).
Don't forget though to check with the company you have other "regular" car insurance with. Many of them (like State Farm) also offer collector and hobby insurance.
If you have any tips to point out during this shopping episode, we would like you to pass them on to the rest of us.

You really have to watch out for the classic car offerings of your regualr car insurance company. I am in the insurance business, and the company I work for offers "classic car insurance". I don't have mine with them. I have attempted to deal with State Farm on a 3rd party claim. I don't have my collector cars, or my daily drivers, or my homeowers with State Farm.
Go to an agent like J.C. Taylor or Grundy, who specializes or at least has a specialized staff that deals with collector cars. DO NOT GO TO YOUR LOCAL AGENT, unless his collection is finer than yours.

I use Grundy. Even though my car is rarely driven (maybe 10-20 miles per year), Grundy will allow you to drive your collector cars not as daily drivers but for those who like to drive to shows, Sunday drives, etc. Grundy also uses agreed value.
