1936 3 window coupe

I purchased a 1936 3 window pontiac a few years back. I am trying to find a vin number for this car. any suggestion as to where or how I can find or obtain one? thanks, mike

The '36 VIN should be located on (stamped in) the driver's side frame top just ahead of the steering gear. Scout that side of the frame well as it might be fore or aft of this position. A wire brush will help, but don't sand or grind while looking for it. You may wipe it out if it isn't a deep stamp.

The number should start with 6BB-1001 and run through 6BB-91362 depending on production number. The Pacific coast cars were C-1001 through C-1400 Bench seat cars had "AB" prefix instead of "BB".
