outer rear wheel well seals on 57 pontiac

I have new rubber wheel well seals for my 57 Pontiac but I cannot figure out the best way to attach them. The originals look like they are stapled to the steel seam. any help would be appreciated.

I'm not familiar with "wheel well seals." Are they fitting inside the wheel well cutouts in the fender?

You mention staples, and I know they were used on the rubber strips that went around the outside of fender skirts. So, there is no doubt that your guess of staples being used is probably correct.

I have read reports on preparing new fender shirts with new rubber mentioning the staples, and how to attach the new rubber today. Problem is I can't remember all the answers, other than one mention of manually inserting new staples (into the existing old staple holes) and bending the ends over. Sounds pretty tedious, and I know other options were mentioned too.

I would suggest doing a search for something like "installing new fender skirt rubber" and see where that leads you.
