The PU code rear end is for a 2.73 ratio.

The Firebird rear end is wider than the Nova I think?

The 75 rear end is around 2.5 inches wider.

The 75 rear end uses a multi-leaf spring setup, while the 67 used a monoleaf (and had torque rods).

The spring perches or the leaf springs would need changing.

Seems to me the rear end was rough ...

The number above the engine code is called the Engine Unit Number or Motor Unit Number.

It will have no correlation to the VIN.

I still run a traditional Pontiac block.
Sometimes the cranks too.

Usually run a 463 (stroked 400 block)
but have ran a 400 and 455 engines ...

Not for sure.
Most fast guys anymore use aluminum heads.

There are a few who have gone low 9's with cast iron parts.

IA2 block, Tiger heads, sheetmetal with two dominators, 540 CID maybe?

You will need to get some 7/16" rocker arm studs for adjustability to go along with the new valve stem height.

The rocker arms you use/get should have some locking nuts, called 'poly-locks'.
