A friend of mine has a 67 2+2 black 4 speed that he ordered new.
I told him to get it PHS documented and he's waiting for the info.
It has 32,000 miles on it . It's always garaged and well taken care of. He dosn't drive it very much (700 miles in the last 4 years).
Bucky told me he's thinking of selling it in the spring and might sell it if he gets his price 25k.I'm a Pontiac lover, i have a #2 57 Starchief 2 dr. ht. 4barrel with 38,000 miles. I told him i am interested and give me first crack at it. 8 years ago he had it painted (down to bare metal) by one of the best paint guys in this neck of the woods. Not a flaw in it, deep and shinny. Last year he had the engine bay detailed. No 8 lugs has Cragers.
Vin is 252877P239075
I read some were they made 1768 67 2+2. How many were 4 speeds?
Is this black 4 speed 2+2, 1 of less then 400? I am very excited
about the chance to buy this car. Maybe i can get it for 20k you never know. George in Rochester,NY Thanks in advance for any help. _________________ |

I'm looking at the numbers for '67. You're correct in that 1768 were built with the 2+2 option with no body style breakout available. Of the 211,405 Catalina's built that year 3653 had synchromesh and 207,752 had Turbo Hydromatics.
The 3653 would count for both 3 spd and 4 spd cars, that's 1.7% were manual. If you take the average of 3653 @ 1.7% that would guestimate apporximately 62 2+2 were built with manual transmission (both 3 spd and 4 spd), which I'd say that probably 75% of them would me the 4spd (just makes sense) so that puts the numbers at about 46 of them were 4spd cars.
Either way, chances are good it's pretty rare.
