Looking for some help on floor pan replacement on my 53 Chieftain. I ordered floor pans for my car and just received them they don't look like the originals although they are labeled for a 1953-54 Chevrolet / Pontiac. The rear replacements don't look like the originals but have the same profile, but the strengthening ribs are in different places and directions. Anyone else run into this and if so what is the best way to handle it? Thank you!

It's kind of hard to tell from the pictures which end is up. Literally. You saw the ling ribs are going different directions? Assume they point front to back now instead of side to side as original.

If the shapes are good, I wouldn't worry much about the ribs. I don't know if they were originally designed as a Chevy replacement and they had different ribs, but as long as they will work, I would use them. There just aren't Pontiac parts made like for the Chevys and Fords.

We have a place in our "AFFILIATES" section called Classic 2 Current that sells sheet metal, so you might check if they have for '53. But it might be the same too. I can't imagine anyone would ever know the difference in what you now have vs. original.
