Can anyone tell me what the relay thats in the center of the firewall is for ? And is it the same as the heater A/C relay

Unfortunately the Shop Manual schematic does not show anything other than the horn relay which seems to always be way in the front area.

There may be a A/C relay, but that would probably be shown in a special A/C Shop Manual which I do not have.

The only other things I do find is a relay for the Guide-Matic light dimming system but it does not show the location. And a buzzer (that looks just like a relay) for the speedometer warning, but that is most likely under the dash.

The regular heating system (non A/C) schematic does not show a relay.

Oddly, in the '64 Supplement Shop Manual I saw a picture that happened to catch a relay on the firewall. See below. Is this the one you are questioning?

Is your car operational that you can do some testing by pulling wires and seeing if the A/C (clutch) operates when the relay is disconnected? Can you do a continuity check between the relay wire connector and the A/C clutch wire connector?

Wish I could help some more.
