I thought I had responded to this, but apologize if I did not.

I do not think you will find any aftermarket companies that will offer parts that are actually "original" to your car in any way (dash, ducts, etc.). That is why people have to go through such logistics like buying a parts car to convert their non-A/C car to "factory" A/C. That's a lot of work, and very expensive... if you can even find what you need from a donner car.

Of the aftermarket companies, I have only seen under dash units that are made to represent the "original" style under dash units for the early Mustangs. Many do make A/C systems custom designed to fit specific cars though. But they still aren't "factory," and I have not seen for a GP like yours; but someone might make and I just haven't seen. However, it would not be original factory.

One of these aftermarket systems may fit up under your dash (and be hidden), but it would require add-on vents if you do not have them already. A new system would require the new style (and Freon) compressor, but they make them to fit the old mounting brackets. If you do not have the A/C bracket or a pully with a A/C groove, check with Frank at Frank's Pontiac Parts in Southern California (see his ad to the left). He will probably have those.

You can, however, modify almost any old A/C bracket to fit almost any Pontiac engine. I modified a bracket from "who-knows-what" to add the compressor to the '74 400 in my '40 Pontiac (had to tuck it way inboard because the old car isn't as wide in the engine compartment as the newer cars).

If you buy a "kit" they are quite expensive. I found a company in Iowa that handles automotive A/C products called TBI and "married" their parts to a Southern Rods evaporator unit I mounted out of sight under the front seat. They will work with you to make sure they give you all compatible parts, and are happy to answer any questions you might have.

That is if you decide to engineer your own system. I have a friend that had an A/C "kit" installed in his '40 Pontiac and it cost over $3500! And it was so big it elimnated his glove box, his radio, and his cowl vent assy. I did my entire custom system in my '40 for a total of around $1000 and lost no dash space.

Can't say you can do exactly the same, but you sure can save by doing this yourself.

All good i appreciate the response I am actually working 45 miles from franks in so cal. We are out in the desert for the next couple of months. I am capable of doing the work myself and planned on it..i was looking at a few of the "generic" non model specific type and running the venting somewhere. If i had to do underdash. it would probably try to fabricate some sort of thin vent that didnt draw your eye..
I just Dropped off the 428 motor at the machine shop . If it checks out all good then im gonna proceed with" bracket shopping" Im really excited to get this one done...Pomona swap meet is coming up and few people i have reached out to are going to meet me there with some interior parts that were better than mine.. She is gonna get driven this year and tore down for resto next year and the 428 swap.. lots to look for finding good parts for this car...
