Hi Guys,

I have just purchased a 51 Chieftan Catalina 2 Dr Hard Top and can't find where the hydramatic dipstick is located. I have checked under the carpet on the right hand side of the bell housing tunnel but can't see it.

Can anyone help

Thanks

Joe

I don't have my service manual in front of me now, but I seem to think, based on remembering my '54 Pontiac, that the access you're checking now was to access the torque converter fill. Contact our Tech Advisor, John Harvey, on these cars. He has had many of them. Look under "Members" then "Technical Advisors." John will know exactly what you need.

Actually it looks like you are on the right track... see below attached page from Hydra-Matic Service manual.
