|
|
I am looking for someone who has an outside sun visor on their 1950-52 HARDTOP. I am trying to duplicate the outside brackets. Photos and measurements would help me a great deal. I am new to this forum so I'm not sure how information can be exchanged. Thank You. _________________ |

As with so many of these old parts, the old inter-web is the place to search. A quick Google search turned up LOTS of places selling the visors AND parts. I wouldn't waste the time trying to fab them.
Check this eBay URL: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=fulton+sun+visor+parts&ul_noapp=true
I have even sold an unidentified visor bracket I had on eBay... it went immediately! The hardware is a hot ticket, and surely worth buying instead of the pain to duplicate.
Many of the places the search turned up are probably places that could answer questions too. Like what visor do you have, and what brackets do you need. While probably a Fulton made in my old home town of Milwaukee, there were many different types. _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |

I have looked for quite a while for the specific outer brackets on line as well as trying to get people to respond to postings like this. Everything listed on e-bay is correct for sedans but NOT for a hardtop. NONE of the manufactures of new sun visors will sell only the brackets. When looking at these new sun visors, they show the incorrect outer bracket for a hardtop. So, back to square one - again. _________________ |

You're right about it all appearing to be sedan stuff.
This eBay seller has something that might be interesting: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FULTON-1000-SERIES-SUNVISOR-SUNSHADE-INSTALLATION-INSTRUCTIONS-NICE-/321033662799?hash=item4abf
It's supposed to be the instructions for the Fulton 1000 Series Sun Shade. He states: "YOU ARE PUCHASING FULTON DELUX SUN SHIELD SUNVISOR 1000 SERIES INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. FOUR PAGES OF DETAILED DIRECTIONS FOR PAINTING, ASSEMBLING AND INSTALLING, COVERS MOST AMERICAN CARS AND TRUCKS FROM 1940-1951. THIS IS A MUST FOR THE CLASSIC CAR PERSON. PURCHASE WITH CONFIDENCE I HAVE OVER 560 TRANSACTIONS WITH 100% FEEDBACK FROM BUYERS."
I don't know if that's the visor you have, or if the instructions give a good look at the brackets... or if it is for a hardtop either. But for $10.00 it might be worth a shot. Maybe even drop the seller a question. _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |

My sun visor is not a Fulton visor. Thanks you for the great tip though. It is appreciated. _________________ |
