This is the part number for the hose that Ames shows for '64 full-size with 2 & 4-bbl.: PP253. Have you checked it?

This number PP252 is for tri-power engines.

Hello

Thank you for your reply. I have the Ames hose & it is a very poor substitute for the original hose. I have my doubts about its ability to be installed correctly. According to the Gates # on the hose, it is a bottom hose for a foreign car.

Thank you,
Tony

Speaking of Gates.....

They have a parts locator service on-line. I plugged in all your info and find the following: Upper hose (flexible) #26612, for both tri-power and non-tri-power.

However, I'm betting you are looking for a molded factory-type hose. From the Gates info, I'm guessing the bad news is that they are not around any longer, and only replaced with a "universal" flexible sort of hose.

I would believe that only if you happened upon one that somebody had stacked away, they are not being reproduced. On the other hand, with all the different hoses ever made (and many still made), an "eyeball" search might turn up something very close. But that would mean someone with a boatload of hoses would let you wander around comparing to an old hose- who that might be, I have no idea.

Remember too that any NOS (old) hose found will probably be pretty bagged-out due to age. I wouldn't want to use one on a nice car for fear of a blow out.

I have bought the flex hose as a back up. I would really like to have a molded hose. Makes the car present better. There must be 1964 full size Pontiacs who's owners would like a correct hose.
Is there a way to have some made?

Thanks,

Tony
