What type of holding clip is used and where can I get them, for my heat riser on my 1978 Chevrolet 305 ci 2 bbl (factory) for my 1978 Grand LeMans Safari A-body wagon? It is the vacuum linkage rod that controls the vacuum operated warm up of the engine-heat riser flap at the exhaust entry of the engine. Thank you for any replies and info. |

I did a quick Google search of "Chevy 305 heat riser assembly" and found a ton of info. Lots of places selling them, probably bits and pieces too.
Check the photo below. If it is like yours, it appears to be a simple C-clip that you can get most anywhere.
Good luck. _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |

UPDATE: 4-18-18: I did find one exactly as in the pictures. I found 3 used ones that were rusty and dirty. Prices ranged from $65-$80 plus S&H of from $16 - $35.
I found a brand new complete unit in the box for a paltry $27.95. The total after tax, etc. was $34.55. Thanks for your help Larry. It made me look further and I saved a lot of cash.
To those that say they are Pontiac enthusiasts and try to rip off fellow Pontiac people/members with your get rich quick prices for crappy parts, shame!!! |

That's good news. Yes, there are some who think they have gold mines of used parts. But then again, if you want a numbers matching, period correct, proper manufactured date stamped one.... silly, huh?
Or, you can do like we do down here in Florida... put the thing on the concrete driveway and hammer the be-Jesus out of the flap until it falls out. There, perfect! Not much need for them down here! _________________ PontiacRegistry.com... building the single largest source of Pontiac information, services, and entertainment in the world! |
