Hello,

I am new to the Pontiac Registry because I recently purchased a number matching 1967 Pontiac Parisienne Convertible with a 283/195 hp engine and a 2 speed Powerglide transmission. The vehicle is in running condition but requires a complete restoration. Hence the reason for my post, would anyone know if this vehicle was equipped with a power convertible top or was it non-power? The vehicle has no power convertible lines or motor that would indicate that it was a power convertible yet there is a power convertible switch on the dash. Any help is greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance.

Two things would make me believe your car should have a power top. First is the give-away of a switch. Sure wouldn't have put one in if it didn't do anything, but the other is that I have never seen a later model full-size car without a power top. Even the smaller non-power ones like on some Mustangs, Firebirds, etc. can still be a bear to wrestle up or down. Rarely a one-person job.

I happen to have the Canadian Parts Manual covering this car, and have posted below the page covering the power top. There is no equivalent page for a non-power top, and there are no reverences anywhere for non-power components.

In the electrical section I also do not see any harnesses, etc. for non-power tops. It would seem someone removed a leaking pump, lines, and cylinders.

Yell if you need other help as this manual is quite extensive, and strictly for the Canadian cars. Thanks to one of our members who sent it to us to help others like you.
