Do you know which one is supposed to be on your '38?

On my '40s engine I played around with carbs but don't remember what the letter/number codes were. Actually, about the only difference I ever noticed between them all was the "step down" design of the metering rod. So then I got around to just swapping that rod around looking for the best idle results.

Just don't make the mistake I did and try a 1-bbl Holley. I adapted the base plate and it ran like a champ. But we headed out for a car show about 100 miles from home-- and sucked gas like a swine. So much for that idea!
