My 1966 GTO has a paint code N2.
I see the N is for Burgundy. Had auto paint distributor look up code N2. they only show code N , using Ditzler PPG. #50700 Looks to red. Does the #2 mean anything. Want a more Burgundy look like original.
Thanks,
Bob

I foud what I was looking for.
N is the lower color , 2 is for the upper color. In my case it would be my Black vinyl top.

Sorry to not respond sooner... Turkey Day you know. I was not able to find the "2" code in normal channels, but did just now confirm your finding in Eric White's "GTO Bible" the "Illustrated Identification Guide." It also shows your "N" as burgundy and the "2" as black top... however, you didn't mention if you had a vinyl or convertible top. One of those is what you have, right? Because there are no two-tones codes otherwise shown.

As for the burgundy color search... good luck. I just went through that with my '40 Pontiac. It's first paint job many years ago was pretty close to what was called Parma Wine at the time, but the second one (also many years ago) we always to maroon looking (almost brown in the low light). So now while I'm redoing the car I started looking for something more burgundy again.

I too found some samples too red. However, I did find a really sharp color (non-metallic too). If you want to try the color I finally found, it is a PPG product mixed by or local Final Finish store.

The codes are: Red- 30.8
Red Oxide- 13.2
Quindo Velvet- 11.0
Jet Black- 1.7
Acceleratr- 2.5
Clear- 68.8

If these numbers don't help, let me know and I'll get you in contact with them.

It is a real cool color... not red, not purple, not brownish- perfect burgundy red.

I have the black vinyl top.
Body shop took tail light sassy down to paint shop.
They did a color match. We will try it next week.
If I'm not happy I have them mix what you sent me.
Thanks.
