The manual transmission in your '30 Pontiac is a pretty basic unit. I am guessing it may have synchronizes in the top two gears but am not certain. I have never driven one that old. Regardless, it is probably rather simple in its requirements and would do well with nearly any manual fluid in the 120-150 weight range. Many newer manual transmissions went to very thin fluids (Chrysler products actually used automatic fluid in their manuals).

I am guessing that the "150" in your "A-150" is the weight. Pretty stout for an old transmission- and very common back then. The only problem is in very cold weather. I remember my dad's '58 Willys (Jeep) wagon that you couldn't move the shift lever on cold Wisconsin mornings until the transmission and fluid warmed up.

If you want o be extra careful and do some extra checking, try looking here: http://www.castrol.com/en_gb/united-kingdom/products/cars/classic-oils/classic-gear-oils.html

It is a Castrol site discussing older car needs and they invite your questions.
