Oh, my gosh!!

You don't mention how many times you've kicked yourself for letting them go! They might be Chevy powered, but what super high performance cars those were.

I am most likely the only person in Florida to own 2 Canadian Pontiacs - a 1956 Pontiac Pathfinder 2-door sedan, and a 1964 Acadian Beaumont Sport Deluxe convertible. I've rebuilt the 56 with new springs, shocks, bushings, etc., added front power disc brakes on dropped spindles, upgraded to 4.11 positraction, HD late 60's Chevy 3-speed floor shift, and 545 hp @ 6200 rpm 496 BBC. The 64 is all pretty much original, restored by a previous owner, 195 hp 283 w/ Powerglide and stock 3.08 rear gears.

In spite of the flood of Canadians down here during the winters, I'm sure you're right about your Florida-Canadian Pontiac ownership. Great cars!

OK, so, better Canadians than New Yorkers, eh? Very Happy

Here's a few pics of my Canadian Pontiacs.

Sharp cars! I liked the '64 as it looks like a customized Chevelle.

Thanks!

The '64 Beaumont is a Chevelle in large part - chassis and drive train was 100% Chevrolet (although motor had some distinctly Canadian Pontiac parts, like the valve cover decals and the air cleaner, both of which are "wrong" on my car since the motor was apparently plucked from a Chevelle) and the body was based on Chevelle, although with some distinctly Canadian Pontiac parts, like the rear taillights and panel, and the 'spears' on top of the front fenders, and the trim along the rocker panels. My car had been restored using mostly Chevelle parts, so the hood is 'incorrect' because Beaumonts did not have (although Chevelles did) a 'spear', and Beaumonts had back-up lights in the rear bumper (Chevelles did not). But the Beaumont dash is similar to the GTO (NOT Chevelle), and the grille is similar to the Chevelle and the GTO but distinctly different ...

Confusing, eh?

Anyway, I like it. Bought an OEM tach (which was a factory option for this car) which is identical to the '64 GTO tach, to be installed once weather cools down this autumn.
