I can't seem to find a vendor that sells the 2 rear seat mounting bolts for my Firebird. I don't even know what size bolts they are as I'm sure they can be bought at a local auto parts/hardware store. I think they may be a size #14 screw with large washer. Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Txs - Brian

If you are going all out for a perfectly authentic restoration, that is fine. However, I'm pretty sure most people would just put in a bolt with a large washer (ie: "fender washer"). Surely a couple bolts bought from the local hardware store will fit (wrong size ones go into the "need in the future" box). I can tell you for sure that you won't have to mess around with any metric sizes.

These, however, are probably best located in a junkyard. And I would bet that probably 99% of the bolts you might find in a 1960-80 GM car would be the right ones.

As another option, stores like NAPA (not the new "box" stores) USED to carry universal items including some hardware. But, I'd go to the local junkyard first.

Thanks. Car will never be a 100 point vehicle. Since there are no junk yards near me it's off to Napa and the hardware store to find these. I have an idea on the bolt size. Believe it or not I was told that the bolts from a Camaro would fit, but after shipping costs I can't justify spending $10+ for 2 bolts. Thanks again

I'm sure Camaro, and many others, would be the same. Try something like a 1/4" or 5/16" bolt and fender washers. They really aren't very big, and are SAE. "Fender washers" are nice and large, with small holes.

NAPA might surprise you and have some sort of universal bolt with a large washer too.

Good luck.
