No way of knowing by transmission breakdown, but there were 3,774 4-door sedans and 12,789 convertibles.

Now if it is a <b>Star Chief Custom</b>, there were 8,874 4-door sedans, 32,862 2-door hardtops, 44,283 4-door hardtops, 1,292 2-door wagons, and 1,894 4-door wagons.

If you want to see other production codes look in the <b>"Technical Data & Info"</b> Forum.

I have a Star Chief (2d HT) also. Had it for years in the garage, my boys are wanting to work on it, so here we go! It is mostly complete and I think it will run after a little work, but we will see. I have learned a lot about these cars, but definitely not an expert. Hope I can help you out.

Sounds like a great father-son project. And on a car very worthwhile of the time and investment.

I just brought my '40 engine back to life after a 25 year slumber. There are no shortcuts. Go through all lube, fuel, and electrical step-by-step cleaning, etc.

We have a lot of people with parts and knowledge. Yell if you need anything.

Larry
