People:

Any ideas on a possible fix for this? Right rear blinker isn't coming on, nor is the right brake light (everything on left side is good). I hear this is a common problem for these mid-60's jobs. Any and all advice would be appreciated. Thanks - LG

The fact that it is isolated completely to the right rear blinker (assume front blinker is working) PLUS brake light, seems to point to the socket.

Check that it is grounding good. Can even try a piece of wire from the socket to a clean piece of metal elsewhere. That is, if the socket is metal. If plastic, it should have a separate ground wire. Check where it runs, and that it is making a clean contact.

Sounds too easy to be true, but assume have tried a new bulb too.

Electrical problenms are a pain, but 99.9% of the time it is the simplest thing that has gone wrong.

Let us know what you find.

laja, if you haven't already gotten your lights fixed on the right side here is a thing I see a lot on cars going down the road at night. Did you make sure the bulbs are in the right way?? I see all the time where someone has put the bulbs in backwards & the brake light is lit & when they step on the brake it goes dim, & the driving light goes out completely. But really what it sounds like is you have a ground problem with that side lights.
