Serial Number Information for 1950 Pontiac

Hi Everyone,

I am new to the forum and have a question. When I was younger (a few years back), I had a 1950 Pontiac 4 DR and about the only thing that I have is the last five digits of the Serial Number (which were listed on an old insurance card that I recently found). Is there a way to track down more specifics on this car with just these five digits? I think these digits were unique to each car but I didn't know if there was some list/book out there that would have this information.

Sorry to miss your question. Been a crazy time lately!

Those last five digits would have only been the sequential build numbers of that particular car at a particular factory. It counted all models built at the plant for that year and the numbering started with 1,001. The numbers before identify year, model, transmission, etc.
